For the sixth time, all of DJ Dusk‘s (RIP) friends are getting together again to piece together a fundraiser for a good cause. Mind you, this is a day event, so be sure to get here early for the performances and some fresh music & art to be displayed by some of LA’s finest.
This is a FREE event but bring your wallets to support the cause as this is a fundraiser. All proceeds go to the Tarek “Dusk” Captan scholarship and the Mar Vista Family Center.
Activity areas include:
- Children’s Arts & Crafts area (designing 12″ and 45s albums. face painting. henna tatoos.)
- Bike valet (for all the cyclists coming in)
- Silent Auction. (Including Some of DJ DUSKS personal items)
- Homemade food (As always by the families of the center)
- Live Silk Screening & Merchandise Table (just like last year but more items such as Official Poster designed by Jim Mahfood and available for purchase only at the Festival and kids clothing)
Presale tickets are currently selling out right now, so you better hurry up and purchase them. Plus Family Industries will be on site doing live prints on shirts as well. It’s going down in Silverlake this particular weekend, so be sure you get here early…
Since the Idle Warship show ended early last Wednesday, a few of my friends that I went with didnt want to call it a night. So, I told them about Cherry Poppin’ going down at The Room, and we shot out over there. At first I didnt intend on taking pictures while I was there, but since I saw my lovely lady friend/photographer Maricel handling her business over there, I decided to snap a few just for the heck of it.
All of a sudden, Cee-Lo & Big Gipp shows up. They were there for V‘s birthday, as well for the announcement of her being signed to Cee-Lo’s label (which was revealed later in the night). From my understanding, Omar Epps and a few others showed up in support as well.
Anyways, check out the few pictures that I have down below. But, I have to be honest: Maricel’s pictures are much, much better than mine.

Next weekend, Jeremy Sole and the rest of the talent will be travelling all up and down the coast to be in three spots! Its going to be one hell of a weekend.
